El Shaddai – The Omnipotent

om•nip•o•tence

1  the quality or state of being omnipotent

an agency or force of unlimited power

Planning my work day starts early for me. Before my phone starts ringing, before I respond to emails, before my co-workers arrive, I put together a list of ALL the things which need to be done knowing full well I will not get to everything. Prioritizing helps me to concentrate on the things requiring immediate attention and avoiding wasted time on things that can wait. Why? Because I have limited time, I have limited abilities, and I must face the fact that I cannot do everything. I will need to either schedule specific time to address the things I didn’t have time to get to that day or delegate them to someone else.

Not God.

He has no limitations. He does not need to strategize, prioritize, schedule or delegate. He simply wills it and it is so. He is not bound by time, space or dimension. He has limitless time for every single thing and His works are always perfectly appointed. He does not require counsel, advice or input on a matter. He needs no one. All things are decidedly so according to His good pleasure. He is incomprehensible. He is incomparable. Nothing is impossible for Him.

Jeremiah 32:17 ‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.’

It is upon this very truth we can depend and set our faith firmly upon. He is Almighty God. It is all we need to know. Let the Bible scholars and theologians dissect it into philosophical babbling. Instead choose to rest here, completely satisfied with the revelation of His omnipotence as we ascribe all glory, all magnificence and all splendor to Him with surrendered hearts bowed low in worship.

Genesis 18:14 Is anything too hard for the Lord?

No, not a single thing.

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
