Dress for success

“Dress for Success”

This morning is the first time I will meet a new client. As a representative of my employer, it is important to make a good first impression. My suit is pressed and I am groomed. My presentation has been rehearsed and my material is neatly packed in my brief case. Checking the time, I am careful not to dilly-dally with unnecessary tasks in order to arrive on time, unhurried, sharp and ready to serve my employer and client. It’s my job and I desire to do it well.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Our Heavenly Father is ready every morning to dress us for the day. Our earthly clothes do not compare with the glorious robes God provides in our spiritual closet!  He puts on us the garments of new life. He prepares us for battle with our spiritual armor. He fills us with His Holy Spirit, giving us strength, wisdom and courage to serve Him, please Him and represent Him. But we must choose the filthy rags of the world or the garments of righteousness. We must count the time spent in front of the wardrobe mirror less worthy than the time we consider our spiritual reflection. It is up to us to put on the new life and discard the old. Once we do, we are more than ready to face world! We reflect the radiant beauty of Jesus Christ for the entire world to see! It is our privilege. May we desire to wear Him well.

Colossians 3:12–14 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.  And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
