Be dressed

Luke 12:35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning”

Jesus commands us to be “dressed,” literally; to be constantly girded for work. Not unprepared or asleep at the helm. Instead we are to be consistently and acutely aware of His eminent return and actively in His service.  His blessings will abound if we are found in the state He commanded. If not, we will find ourselves counted among the unfaithful and lose out on the blessings that could have been.

Do not be fooled by our enemy, Satan, the ruler of this world. He would have us believe Jesus’ return is far off. He convinces us to dress-down; there is always tomorrow. He lies to us telling us such godly service is meant for full-time ministers, pastors and teachers. Do not be deceived! Whether we are at home managing a household, changing dirty diapers, students in school, retired, vacationing, working or looking for a job, may we seek to be found constantly serving Jesus in the capacity He has chosen for us. May we be found ever watching, ever waiting, joyfully anticipating His return! Today and everyday thereafter, stay dressed, stay ready, stay in the constant action of serving our Savior and King!

Matthew 24:44 “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
