Turn the light on

Genesis 1:27–28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them…

Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you went there? Retracing your steps, you go back to where you started and suddenly remember. Aha! The light goes on in our brain and we return to the room to do what we set out to do.

When we were created by God in His own image, we were meant to have continual fellowship with Him. We were to walk with Him, talk with Him and depend on Him for every blessing; but we sinned. Gone from the Garden of Eden, removed from His holy presence, separated by sin we walk into the world and forget our true purpose: pure, righteous, and constant relationship with the Father. Praise God He did not forget. His perfect plan to restore our relationship with Him: He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross sin paying the penalty for all mankind and raised Him up on the third day, defeating death and sin; reconciling us to God. We simply need to choose and believe…

Wrapped up in this world and daily living we enter our day and forget by whom and for whom we have been created. It is time to retrace our steps to creation itself and turn the light on in our souls.  We who believe and have put our trust in Jesus now have a personal relationship with the Father! Continual communion! Even if we wake up and forget our purpose to wait on Him, pray to Him, serve Him, glorify Him and share the hope alive within us, don’t lose heart. He is there with His eyes upon us desiring to hear us, teach us and bless us. Today, partake in the wonderful privilege we have as His children and commit every moment of your day to be in constant communion with Him!

Psalm 27:4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
