God’s word changes us

Jaded: fatigued by overwork, exhausted, made dull, apathetic or cynical by experience or surfeit.

Ever feel like that? Work, home duties, ministry, or community work can leave a person jaded. Perhaps it is unanswered prayer or a long arduous job you committed to in hopes for something better, but it has still not come to pass. Left on our own any work can burn us out, change our attitude and divert our focus. Left on our own to manage life’s toils in our own strength, sufficing to use only our own abilities, we eventually fall into a rut and with a sigh of disillusionment – quit.

Don’t throw in the towel! When we reach the end of our own abilities and strength it is to Him we turn. He promised He will be with us always (Matt 28:20), He will be with us where ever we go (Josh 1:9), He will equip us for every good work (Heb 13:21) and He will strengthen us to do all things (Phil 4:13). He also gave us each other; for help, encouragement, prayer and comfort (Gal 6:2)(Jas 5:16). Turn to Him when we begin. Turn to Him as we endeavor. Turn to Him when we lose heart. Turn to Him when we succeed and give him the glory and praise He is due!

Matthew 11:29–30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
