Power of a Testimony

“The power of a testimony.” Sunday’s message is still echoing in my heart this morning. It is one thing to hear the story of someone changed by God, but a much different thing to be an eye witness. It can’t be ignored.

I confess – I don’t like to back to where I used to roam. If I see someone that might remember who I was, I turn and go another way. When I know my children will meet someone who “knew me when,” I fear the stories they will hear about me will bring them shame. Those who did know me then know what I am speaking of.

The undeniable contrast between who I was then and who I am today is solely and wholly the result of surrendering, believing, and accepting as my Lord and Savior – JESUS CHRIST. That is IT! Simple and AWESOME all in the same moment. While my life since then has been a process of sanctification it all started with a girl, on her knees, begging God to take her life and make it HIS.

If one person is encouraged to surrender their life because of the work God has done in mine; it is ALL WORTH IT.

Matthew 5:14–16 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
