The Road to Emmaus

Luke 24:32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”

Two men, with eyes veiled, walking down the road to Emmaus heard the scriptures explained to them by the risen Jesus. A simple walk from one city to the next turned into a divine revelation of scripture by GOD HIMSELF. Imagine! Would not our own hearts burn with excitement and longing for more? Would we not also beg Him to stay with us longer?

Every day we get the same opportunity. Every day He meets us on the road, in our homes, in our churches, at the coffee shop – especially when we gather together to talk about Him and all the things He is doing in our lives. He is the sweetest part of our fellowship together.

Wake up! Get out of bed! Get on the road and be ready with hearts and eyes unveiled ready to have the scriptures revealed!

About athenammorris

Wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother. I first came to the Lord in 1986. However, I backslid for a few years and rededicated my life to the Lord in 1990. Since then, my road through sanctification has been long and hard; mostly the result of my own rebellion. However in 2011, I finally I completely surrendered to His will and not my own and began to experience spiritual growth. My hope for this blog; people will be encouraged in their daily walk with the Lord. I'm a normal-joe-Christian just like every other Christian; struggling with the flesh, enduring trials, living life all with the intent of glorify and pleasing God. View all posts by athenammorris
